A SPECIALIST North-east drilling services firm has strengthened its senior management team with the appointment of a chief operating officer (COO).
Paradigm Drilling Services, which is based at Thainstone, near Inverurie, has appointed Willem Boon von Ochssee, as COO, to assist with the company’s business strategies to meet demand from clients around the world.
Mr Boon von Ochssee, 47, who has over 20 years experience in the industry, has held a number of management roles at major names in the oil and gas sector throughout his career, specialising in well project management , drilling management systems , and well integrity assurance.
In his new role, he will support chairman and CEO of Paradigm Drilling, Fraser Innes, with ongoing business operations as the company continues to strengthen its services globally.
Paradigm, which is API and ISO 9001 accredited and designs, manufactures and services all types of drilling equipment and down-hole tools, has grown rapidly in just over three years rising from three members of staff in 2009, to 50-plus.
The specialist company is currently working with clients in Norway, Latin America and Saudi Arabia, and is investing a further £1million of capital throughout 2014 into novel horizontal drilling technology and hole enlargement tools to meet customer demand.
Mr Innes said: “We are continuing to attract exceptional people as our profile in the industry grows with the introduction of a range of differentiated drilling technologies.
“Willem’s appointment is in line with our plans to grow and develop the business both in the current markets we are operating in and within new markets on a global level.”
Mr Boon von Ochssee said: “2014 is an exciting time for Paradigm Drilling as the company continues to invest more in specialist equipment for projects in different destinations around the world.
“I will work closely with Fraser to expand our operations and oversee the work of our skilled team globally.”
Paradigm Drilling, which is part of the Paradigm Group of companies, has a large inventory of BHA and hole enlargement equipment for rental.
They also manufacture, service and repair a wide range of downhole tools and fishing equipment.
