KBVO, the Cumbernauld-based specialist BPO (business process outsourcing) company, has launched Clinic Answer, a new business division established to provide a dedicated service to help clinical practitioners grow their practices through the provision of online diary management and clinic support packages.
Chris Munro, KBVO director, said: “When a clinical practitioner’s earning potential is determined by the time they spend treating patients, it makes sense to free up as much of their time for that purpose as possible.
“All the time, they spend answering calls: booking, cancelling and rearranging appointments; giving directions to their practice and discussing parking arrangements is time that would be better spent treating patients.
“Our service provides a professional receptionist as part of a practitioner’s team to answer their calls when no-one else could. Not only do our receptionists manage the booking, cancel and rearrange appointments using a practitioner’s online diary, they can also give patients all the information they need; from how to get to the clinic to what they need to do about insurance.”
Following a successful pilot programme which demonstrated Clinic Answer’s ability to vastly improve the efficiency and, consequently, the revenue stream of many clinical practices, the service is now being rolled out across the sector throughout the UK.
“The feedback we’ve received from clinical practitioners has been very encouraging and has convinced us that there is a nationwide market for this service,” said Munro.
“Indeed in one particular case, Michael Mason, who runs Chichester Chiropractic Clinic, reported that, over a six-month period, Clinic Answer enabled him to double the number of patients he was able to treat.
“Missed appointments (no shows) are the main cause of practice inefficiency and Clinic Answer can resolve that issue by integrating our software with a practice’s online diary – and we can send patients a reminder of an appointment 24 hours in advance.
“By using our experience in diary management and clinic support, practitioners’ working time is spent treating patients rather than running to the phone or worrying about missing any new client enquiries.”
With a dedicated service priced from £35.00 per month, Clinic Answer represents an effective alternative to, and a major cost saving on, employing a full-time receptionist.
With around 70 clinical practitioners already signed up to the service, Clinic Answer aims to more than double that figure by the end of the year. To that end, it is exhibiting at the COPA Practice Growth exhibition aimed at anybody running a medical practice at Excel London on Stand C206 at 12-13 June 2014.
