THE Avenue Shopping Centre in Newton Mearns has been short-listed for a trio of prestigious awards.
Michelle McCabe has once again been short-listed as Shopping Centre Manager of the Year in the coveted Sceptre Awards whilst her marketing assistant, 23 year-old Katie Murray, has been short-listed in the Young Achiever category.
And The Avenue has been shortlisted in the ‘Excellence in Customer Services’ category of this year’s East Renfrewshire Business Awards.
The string of awards acknowledge a year of exceptional activity and investment in the infrastructure of The Avenue Shopping Centre in Newton Mearns, including a comprehensive facelift encompassing the creation of an ambitious public realm space at the Centre’s entrance, opening up exciting opportunities for a range of special events, as well as a major refreshment and upgrading of customer facilities.
Commenting on the shortlistings, McCabe said: “We’re delighted with this recognition of the tremendous progress made by The Avenue over the course of the last year, during what has remained a challenging trading environment for many retailers.
“The creation of new branding, a new website and the introduction of free WIFI throughout the mall have helped ensure that our shoppers have received an even more enjoyable retail experience and take pride in the fact that this year The Avenue became the first shopping centre in Scotland to gain WorldHost Customer Service Destination Status for delivering exceptional levels of customer service.
“Yet whilst this recognition is most welcome, it is how our customers regard The Avenue that we prize most highly. Our market research continues to show that our customers choose to shop at The Avenue for our personal friendly service and variety of stores.”
The Avenue is, of course, no stranger to accolades. Earlier this year it was awarded a Park Mark Safer Parking Award.
The Avenue Shopping Centre, managed by commercial property consultancy BTWShiells, offers shoppers a warm and welcoming shopping experience conveniently located on the outskirts of Glasgow city centre.
