AFTER the remarkable success of The Ideal Home Show Scotland, with over 40,000 visitors through the door last year, the iconic show is returning to the SECC next week.
In what promises to be an even bigger and better show than ever before, we’ve selected some show stopping highlights to look out for.
The Prince’s Foundation Houses:
For the first time ever, the Prince’s Foundation is bringing three spectacular show homes north of the border. These houses called The Prince’s Crescent comprise The Family Home, The Cottage and the Baillie Scott Home.
The homes demonstrate the very best in eco-friendly, practical and versatile home living for all the family.
After the show, the homes will be taken to The Dumfries Estate in Ayrshire where they will become homes for people to live in.

The Erskine Road to Victory Garden:
We are delighted to again support Erskine as our charity partner. This year marks the anniversary of the centenary of the start of WW1 and in commemoration, Erskine have gone back in time to recreate a garden from 1914.
This space will include allotments, garden tools, a shed and some chickens. A garden was a restful area for a gardener before the outbreak of war.

Homecoming Menu:
It’s Scotland’s year of Homecoming and our favourite foodie expert has concocted a special Homecoming Menu, available at the Gregg Wallace Restaurant sponsored by Regina. It’s designed to showcase the best in Scottish produce. Expect fine dining, not deep-fried food.
Location: IDEAL FOOD & HOUSEWARES sponsored by Regina
Special Guests:
Our celebrity ambassadors this year are: Gregg Wallace, George Clarke, John Amabile, Diarmuid Gavin, Carol Smillie and Suzi Perry.
During the Homecoming year, we’ve also taken the opportunity to celebrate some other special celebrities. Look out for surprise appearances from Dennis the Menace and Oor Wullie.
Ideal Super Theatre:
The many highlights from the super theatre include everything from cooking demonstrations, to Q&As and book signings. Watch out for one half of the Incredible Spice Men – Tony Singh, who will be appearing at the show on Monday 26th May and as well as cooking, he’ll be signing copies of his new book, Tasty.
Bob McCaw, Plant Area Supervisor for Erskine Garden Centre, will be talking gardening and telling us how the Road to Victory Garden was developed. Lovely Ideal Woman Ambassador, Carol Smillie, will be hosting a Q&A on the Sunday 25th May. She’ll also be at her stand with her Diary Dolls business.

Ideal Room Sets:
Our interiors guru John Amabile has been busy filming 60 Minute Makeover and he’s bringing some artistic flair and authority to the show. He’s sent cheeky prankster Dennis the Menace to his bedroom … expect lots of black and red in this specially-themed room set, with merchandise supplied by DC Thomson.

Automotive Partner Lexus: Returning this year with their Supercars is automotive sponsor Lexus, who will be showcasing their latest models. Including the new CT, offering peerless luxury in a compact car powered by the world’s most advanced Full Hybrid technology.

Lee Newton, Media 10’s managing director, said: “The show in Scotland has grown from strength to strength since its launch in 2011.
“It’s a much-loved, renowned and well supported event and an integral part of our Ideal Home Show brand. It’s an exciting year for Scotland with so much going on in the country and we’re expecting this show to be our biggest yet.”
The Ideal Home Show Scotland really does have everything you need for a great bank holiday day out with all the family so join us at the SECC Glasgow from 23rd – 26th May 2014.
