ONE of Scotland’s leading specialist holiday letting agencies, Cottages & Castles, is offering holiday home owners on Mull the opportunity to capitalise on their properties as the island is fast becoming a holiday hotspot.
The Isle of Mull, off Scotland’s West coast, offers varied landscapes and habitats, from the picturesque mountain Ben More and wild moorland, to wave-lashed sea cliffs, sandy beaches and seaweed-fringed skerries.
Given its proximity to Glasgow, and only a short ferry ride from Oban, the Isle of Mull is the perfect, easy-accessible getaway.
It’s not surprising that the stunning island is experiencing a dramatic increase in visitors, with recent figures reporting over 300,000 tourists visiting Mull every year.
The 40th anniversary eEdition of Lonely Planet (June 2013) also highlighted Mull as one of the 40 most ‘amazing experiences’ in Europe to visit and being one of only two Scottish locations (along with Stirling Castle) to feature in the European section.
Cottages & Castles is therefore looking to increase the number of holiday homes in its portfolio to meet the surge in interest from holiday-makers looking to explore the beautiful Isle of Mull.
The firm will be holding a roadshow on the 14th May at the Isle of Mull Hotel and Spa which will allow current and prospective holiday home owners from the area to speak to Cottages & Castles manager, Sue Bourne, and hear more about the benefits of short-term letting.
Sue Bourne said: “We have been experiencing an increasing number of people choosing to holiday at home rather than travel abroad to escape overcrowded resorts and reduce travel.
“Mull offers the chance to spot some of Scotland’s rarest and most dramatic wildlife and currently has untapped potential in terms of trade and tourism opportunities.
“The aim of our roadshow on Mull is to increase the number of self-catering holiday properties available in the area to meet the demand we are experiencing and offer more tourists the opportunity to see some of the best scenery that Scotland has to offer.”
Cottages & Castles has built up a loyal customer base of returning visitors due to the flexibility, high quality homes and value for money that self-catering holidays in Scotland offer.
Properties available through Cottages & Castles in Scotland range from little croft cottages offering romantic breaks to large country homes or castles, creating the perfect backdrop for special occasions and family gatherings.
The Mull roadshow is a free to attend event and will be held on Wednesday 14th May at The Isle of Mull Hotel & Spa, Craignure from 9.30am-6.00pm.
