FINANCIAL results for PR agency, Beattie Communications, which were released today, were the most impressive in the 28-year history of the company.
Said a spokesperson: “Turnover was just shy of £7 million compared with £6.3 million in 2012 with operating profit rising from £161,000 to £556,000.
“Turnover increased by ten per cent while operating profit was up 40 per cent on the notable results of 2012.”
Laurna Woods, group managing director, said: “Each of our profit centres performed strongly with PR, social networking and digital marketing delivering record performances.
“Indeed our results would have been even more impressive had an aggressive recruitment drive not been hampered by a worrying shortage of available PR and marketing talent.
“Recruiting staff was more difficult than winning business in 2013 and we see no improvement in the foreseeable future as the UK and international economies recover from recession. That’s why we will continue to invest significantly more than industry averages on staff training and people development.
“Our hunger for success continues unabated with PR, social media and web marketing our springboards for growth with direct marketing and database management becoming increasingly important.
“It’s pleasing to report that our Linkedin marketing team has established itself as the leader in b2b social networking in both the UK and US.
“Looking to the future, 2014 is shaping up to be another vintage year for Beattie Communications as we continue to invest in our services, brands and our people.”
Headquartered in London, Beattie Communications has eight offices in the UK including Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds and Glasgow.
