MOUNTING evidence that demand for retail properties in Glasgow is on the up can be found in the fact that Shepherd Chartered Surveyors has let a pair of retail outlets in the city just a few months after bringing them to the market.
Acting on behalf of a private landlord, Shepherd has let a 580 sq ft unit at 23 Renfield Street, a very popular city centre location, to Juice Garden on a 15-year lease at a rent of £25,000 pa.
And acting on behalf of ZR Properties, Shepherd has let a ground floor 1,270 sq ft unit on a prominent corner position on a busy thoroughfare at 336 Duke Street to VIP on a ten-year lease with rent stepped from £13K pa to £16K pa at year five.
Scott Grindlay, surveyor at Shepherd, said: “These lettings provide further welcome evidence of a resurgent demand for retail property within the Glasgow area.”
