THE Famous Grouse Experience at The Glenturret Distillery in Crieff, Scotland’s oldest distillery, has appointed Volpa to handle their marketing and public relations for Scotland’s most visited distillery.
Established in 1775, Glenturret Distillery is also home to The Famous Grouse Experience, the spiritual home of one of the country’s favourite Scottish blended whiskies, The Famous Grouse. Boasting a range of tours and whisky tasting experiences, as well as an award-winning interactive show, Volpa is being tasked with driving and increasing footfall to this five-star visitor attraction.
In a year where the eyes of the world will be firmly upon Scotland, and Perthshire in particular as home to the Ryder Cup 2014, their brief includes promotion of the facilities for corporate entertainment and private events, as well as attracting valuable group business such as coach tours and accommodation partnerships.
Lesley Williamson, business development manager of The Famous Grouse Experience, commented: “We are really pleased to have Volpa on board and working alongside The Famous Grouse Experience team.
“We are planning to have another very successful year in 2014, rolling out the red carpet for what we expect will be an extremely busy year for tourism business in the Perthshire area and welcoming visitors from near and far to Scotland’s oldest working distillery.
“We have recently invested in our facilities to enhance our offering for the corporate and private events market, and are continually looking to meet the demands of this growing part of our business.
“There has been a real growth in interest in Scotland’s national drink in recent years and a visit to The Famous Grouse Experience is not just your average distillery tour, but an opportunity for people to learn about and enjoy Scotland’s most famous blended whisky in its spiritual home.”
The Famous Grouse Experience is one of several new contract wins for Volpa since November, including Scotland’s Secret Bunker, Inveralmond Brewery and Blair Castle.
Tricia Fox, managing director of Volpa, commented: “We are really excited about representing The Famous Grouse Experience, where we will be working with the team to increase visitor numbers and raise awareness of this very popular tourist attraction.
“We are also very excited about the Experience’s hospitality offering, and their proximity to several of Scotland’s major cities makes it a very popular and unique venue for both corporate and private entertainment.”
