AS a first-time official partner of the Glasgow International Comedy Festival, Holiday Inn Glasgow Theatreland is looking forward to welcoming visitors in search of a laugh to the city – as well as putting up a number of comedians during their stay.
The biggest comedy festival in Europe returns from 14th March to 5th April. Now in its 12th year, the Glasgow International Comedy Festival offers nearly 105,000 tickets for 416 shows at 46 venues all over the city.
Sarah Watson, festival manager, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Holiday Inn Glasgow Theatreland, together with its The AA rosette La Bonne Auberge brasserie, on board to help support this year’s Festival.
“The Glasgow International Comedy Festival has become a renowned annual event in Glasgow’s cultural calendar and with 416 shows in 46 venues across the city, there will be something to suit every age, taste and budget this year.”
Alan Taylor, general manager at Holiday Inn Glasgow Theatreland, said: “Given our location at the heart of Glasgow’s Theatreland, we very much look forward to establishing a long association with the festival and look forward to providing food and accommodation for performers and comedy fans alike throughout its duration.”
Radio Scotland’s Fred MacAulay leads a packed programme which also features Omid Djalili, Jerry Sadowitz, and a gala benefit evening for Glasgow’s hospice featuring Canadian one-line merchant Stewart Francis.
