RENOWNED Italian coffee roaster Caffe Carraro is this month introducing Don Cortez, a smooth premium coffee blend, into Scotland.
A distinctive, delicious coffee created from beans hand picked in the African highlands and the lower basins of Peru, Don Cortez offers an harmonious balance, lending the palate vanilla and soft flowered fruit flavoured notes.
Carlos Avila, co-founder with Gary Wright of Scottish-based distributor CG Coffee, said: “We’re delighted to work in partnership with Caffe Carraro, a passionate family run business, to introduce Don Cortez, a new quality coffee and brand to the Scottish market.
“Caffe Carraro has been roasting coffee in the Veneto region of Italy since 1927 and has since expanded to over 15 countries worldwide.
“And following research indicating that Scotland’s licensed trade is now ready to invest in the coffee it sells and is eager to learn how it’s prepared, where it comes from and the quality of the beans, we are now introducing the premium Don Cortez blend.
“All Don Cortez beans are packed straight from the roaster in a protected atmosphere to ensure customers receive the optimum freshness right to the last bean, so it’s no wonder that Don Cortez is already proving popular with our expanding customer base.”
The rapidly growing distributor secured Caffe Carraro for Scotland 18 months ago and, ever since, its brands have proved to be a hit with independent hospitality sector operators throughout Scotland, from sandwich bars to boutique hotels, pubs, clubs and restaurants.
CG Coffee’s current client list includes: Italian restaurant chain, Di Maggios; North Lanarkshire Council; Costley & Costley Hoteliers, Café Gandolfi and many more.
It was established four years ago by industry veteran of 25 years Avila, known in the coffee industry as the front man for Costa wholesale in Scotland for 18 years, together with Wright, who has years of experience in the art of coffee, working with established coffee roasters Matthew Algie and Costa Coffee.
In addition to high quality coffee beans from Italian coffee roaster Caffe Carraro, CG Coffee offers associated products, such as crockery, biscuits and a range of professional coffee machines and grinders that can be acquired through hire purchase or bought outright.
