BUSINESSES in Kenmore and Aberfeldy are gearing up to extend their warm Highland welcome to thousands of Winter tourists with the return of their WinterWeek+ Festival, which starts this weekend and runs for the next nine days.
Starting on Saturday 15th February and running until Sunday 23rd February, WinterWeek+ offers visitors to the Kenmore area a selection of different events and activities suitable for both couples and families including ghost walks, chocolate making workshops, a Farmers’ Market, handbell-ringing concert and Alpine safaris.
Festivities will kick off this weekend with Iron Age experiences at the Scottish Crannog Centre in Kenmore, food and drink tasting at the Courtyard and a Chocolate & Film Festival at the Birks Cinema in Aberfeldy .
Director of The Scottish Crannog Centre, Barrie Andrian, said: “We’re delighted to be supporting the WinterWeek+ Festival again.
“We have a range of Iron Age themed events on throughout the festival including Crannog tours by canoe, and a guided walk to the nearby Iron Age Hillfort on the Monday.
“But there is a lot going on in the area, from a winter farmers market in the square at Kenmore and Church concert, to red squirrel encounters at Cluny Gardens and whisky tasting at various events sponsored by Dewar’s Whisky.
“It’s a fantastic way to showcase what Kenmore and Aberfeldy have to offer, and we’re looking forward to welcoming visitors from around the country on their mid-term breaks.”
