A NORTH-EAST farm store will be playing Cupid at a special event being held for couples and singletons this Valentine’s Day.
The Store in Foveran, is hosting a valentine’s foodie night in its restaurant on 14 February, and is offering places at its ‘Gooseberry table’ for people who are single, or for friends.
Anyone booking a table for three will get a third place for free.
The family run farm shop, located only ten minutes from Aberdeen, will be serving a selection of freshly prepared and locally sourced meals on the menu – perfect for all food lovers.
For couples who would prefer to stay in or can’t get a babysitter for the night, The Store, which has a passion for local and high quality produce, has created a special ‘Valentine’s meal in a box’, filled with two Aberdeen Angus Fillet Steaks, Dauphinoise potatoes, a bottle of Champagne, luxury truffles and a selection of Scottish cheese and oatcakes.
The Store managing director and farmer, Andrew Booth, said: “Many people will be starting to plan their special Valentine’s night, but instead of being crammed into a restaurant and rushed through your meal for the next sitting, our valentine’s evening is all about the food.
“Our valentine’s menu is full of all the foodie favourites, award winning meat and sweet indulgences to wow your other half – after all a way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.
“However, for all the single people out there, we decided to offer a ‘gooseberry table’, so they can come along with friends and still enjoy a nice meal.”

The gooseberry table offer excludes children and relatives. The farm shop, which was launched in 2000, is only ten minutes from Aberdeen and is open seven days a week, from 10am-5pm.
