LEADING advice in the field of blowout relief well modelling was on offer to delegates attending an event in Aberdeen city centre yesterday (Thursday, January 30th).
The lunch and learn session was hosted by Fraser Offshore Ltd and led by Vegar Gruner, senior advisor at Norway-based Acona Flow Technology AS.
It was attended by well engineering professionals including drilling managers, engineers and well examiners, and focused on blowout simulation studies and relief well planning.
In addition to an introduction to the flow-modelling aspects of relief wells, delegates were given an overview and comparison of Norwegian and UK legislation surrounding relief well planning.
