AN ABERDEENSHIRE farm shop is encouraging customers to think about the importance of buying local produce this festive period as they start to plan their Christmas dinners.
The Store, in Foveran, near Ellon, has its own farm and butchery on-site, which allows them to follow a farm to fork approach and gives them 100 per cent traceability on all their products and meat produce.
The award winning farm shop, which was launched in 2000, is offering customers the chance to prepare five star festive feast, made up of local produce and meat reared on the family run farm.
As everything is prepared on-site, it allows them to create award winning beef and meat produce that is natural, tastier and high quality.
The Store managing director and farmer, Andrew Booth, said: “As well as the giving and receiving part of Christmas, it is all about the family getting together and sitting down to a fabulous meal.
“As we are passionate about local produce, we pride ourselves on offering a selection of seasonal produce including free-range turkeys, Aberdeen Angus Beef, as well as fresh lamb or game to suit all size of Christmas celebration.
“We also want to save people stress this Christmas by supplying all the extra trimmings, from vegetables to puddings, so you can get everything you need for the big day in one place.”
Run by husband and wife team, Andrew and Debbie Booth, The Store, which is only ten minutes from Aberdeen, can deliver Christmas orders locally and nationwide, with orders being taken up until Christmas Eve.
The farm shop also has a range of chef prepared New Year meals including large steak pies, lasagne, cottage pie and fish pie, as well as a selection of succulent pieces of beef, lamb, gammon and chicken for the perfect roast at Hogmany.
