A LOCAL glazier is applying the finishing touches to a very special piece of glass which will go on public display in The Birks Cinema, once it is signed by Hollywood star and Scottish actor, Alan Cumming, who will be attending a Gala event at the venue in Aberfeldy later this month.
Mcleod Glaziers, who are based in Perth were commissioned to create the plaque for The Birks Cinema ahead of the exclusive Gala event which is taking place on Saturday 30th November.
The plaque will be signed by Alan, patron of The Birks Cinema, before going on permanent display in the foyer of the building.
Paul Foley, general manager of The Birks Cinema, commented: “We are really excited for the arrival of the plaque and can’t wait to pick the perfect spot to display it in the foyer so that all our visitors can see it.
“It will be a great honour to have Alan Cumming formally open The Birks Cinema and this plaque will be a lasting memory of his visit to the Gala event.”
Gavin Maclean, managing director of Mcleod Glaziers, commented: “Mcleods are delighted to offer our support to what is an exciting local project. We hope the glass plaque has pride of place for many years to come and wish all at Birks Cinema the best of luck for the future.”
