SHEPHERD Chartered Surveyors has appointed Martyn Stevens as a building surveyor within its Dundee office, the latest recruit to its expanding Scotland-wide building surveying team.
A native of Edinburgh now resident in Perth, Stevens graduated from Heriot-Watt University and has since gained a vast range of experience working within private practice for eight years prior to joining Shepherd last month.
Of his appointment, Stevens said: “I’m delighted to join Shepherd’s busy Dundee office at a time of growth and look forward to providing our expanding client base with a comprehensive building surveying service.”
Graeme McDonald, head of building surveying at Shepherd, said: “Martyn is a welcome addition to our building surveying team at a time when we are experiencing a significant rise in workload across Scotland. His experience will benefit our existing and new clients throughout Tayside.”
“His wealth of experience enhances our building surveying offering throughout Tayside, adding to our comprehensive multi disciplinary property service that includes: valuation; commercial agency; corporate recovery and restructuring; lease advising; rent reviews; development and investment consultancy; rating and property management.”
Shepherd Building Surveying offers a broad spectrum of core and specialist building surveying services, including: pre-acquisition inspections, landlord/tenant lease and property advice; defect analysis and advice; dilapidations; condition surveys/schedules of condition; reinstatement cost assessments; planned maintenance and cost advice; Energy Performance Certificates; CDM co-ordinator and contract administration.
Stevens’ appointment takes Shepherd’s Dundee-based team of building surveyors to a complement of three and its Scotland-wide team to ten.
Shepherd now boasts what is believed to be the largest geographical spread of building surveyors throughout the country, offering services in Aberdeen, Dumfries, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness.
Demand for building surveying services is such that the firm intends to make further additions to its team over the coming months.
