SUBSEA engineering and project management specialist, CSL, is continuing its drive towards overall company growth and development by appointing George Stalker to the newly-created post of Head of Engineering.
George, who has more than 25 years’ experience in offshore oil and gas construction, the majority of which is in senior engineering roles and project management, will be responsible for expanding CSL’s current in-house capabilities and creating an initial team of upwards of 20 people to support current requirements.
Sean Girvan, managing director of CSL, said the latest appointment is an important next step in the company’s evolution and expansion.
“George will ensure consistency and delivery across design and installation engineering which are areas we have identified as vital elements of our company growth process,” he said.
“This is the latest in a series of recent senior appointments we have made to grow our team of experts who will lead delivery of our future plans.”
George joined the company from Harkland ISS Aberdeen and previously worked in senior engineering and project management roles around the world as well as in the UK.
He is now recruiting across a range of engineering disciplines to create a core team to provide the expertise and scope to support CSL’s internal engineering projects.
“Our intention was to have an engineering team of 30 people in place within six months,” he said.
“However, the interest generated in this development means that the schedule has been brought forward and as we continue to win more work the expansion of that core team will be ongoing.
“The team will have the capability to cover brown and greenfield developments study/FEED and detailed design engineering in integrity management as well as developments in IRM (inspection, repair and maintenance).”
George said he is joining CSL at an exciting time in its development: “This is an opportunity to evolve the service offering from a market recognised subsea project management provider. This will give a good foundation for the team and provide the flexibility to create something which is fit for purpose and can be tailored to meet the needs of our existing and new clients.”
CSL’s growth structure follows a detailed analysis of the company which led to a strategic realignment which has already resulted in significant additional work and greater than anticipated future potential projects.
