BRIAN Milne and Linda Barr, partner and director in the business recovery and insolvency division of leading mid-tier accountancy firm, French Duncan, have been appointed joint administrators of SmartOffice Technologies Ltd, a provider of secure office solutions.
Mr Milne has also been appointed as provisional liquidator of Picsel International Ltd, of which Paisley-based SmartOffice Technologies is a wholly-owned subsidiary.
Says a spokesperson: “Employing 31 staff in the UK and six support and sales staff in Asia, SmartOffice Technologies is a leading secure office workflow provider enabling enterprises to deliver and integrate secure mobile office solutions.
“With technology shipped on over 700 million devices, key stakeholders, such as enterprise mobility solution providers, handset OEMs, operators and enterprise end users, use SmartOffice solutions to deliver secure mobile experiences that rival the experience of the desktop PC.”
Brian Milne said: “Whilst SmartOffice specialises in software development and solutions, the products, patents and intellectual property are created and owned by Picsel, which is incorporated in Malta.
“It is my intention therefore to sell SmartOffice Technologies and Picsel as a combined package.
“Given the popularity of the SmartOffice brand, particularly throughout Asia, and a customer base including such household names as Samsung, LG and Symantec, we anticipate this opportunity to secure a leading provider of secure office solutions to generate interest internationally.”
