A LEADING Scottish insurance and financial services firm has finalised the six-figure acquisition of a long established insurance company, as it continues to expand across Scotland.
The Borland Group, which has offices in Dunfermline and Aberdeen, has secured a deal with a Fife-based firm, the former Carlyle Insurance Group, as part of Borland’s on-going business growth strategy to deliver expert insurance advice to both commercial and private clients.
As part of the acquisition, Borland will take over the insurance firm’s Kirkcaldy office, to further strengthen Borland’s presence throughout Scotland.
The move increases the experienced team to 57 across the three locations, with the nine Kirkcaldy based staff becoming Borland employees.
Chief executive of Borland Insurance, John Silcock, will manage the Kirkcaldy base as the firm plans to enhance services for current and future clients by providing holistic insurance and financial advice throughout Scotland.
The firm also has future plans to increase staff numbers by up to 20 per cent within the next 12 months, creating a number of employment opportunities in the area.
