A SPECIALIST North-east reservoir engineering company has doubled its in-house team of experts to work on projects across the globe.
Oilgen, which specialises in high-tech reservoir modelling to forecast and improve oil and gas production, has appointed Lisa Casteleyn as a geologist, bringing the number of staff at the company to four.
The Aberdeen-based company is currently working on projects in the North Sea, France, Egypt, West Africa, Holland, and America for top names in the oil and gas industry.
Miss Casteleyn’s appointment comes just two months after the business welcomed staff reservoir engineer Ismail Labed to the team.
Miss Casteleyn, 29, who is originally from Paris, has a PhD in geology, and has worked with a number of well-known oil companies in France over the years.
Before moving to Aberdeen, she was involved with various projects investigating the characterisation of reservoir properties in the Paris basin, and carbonate fractured reservoirs.
Oilgen managing director, Laurent Schirrer, said: “Lisa has tremendous expertise and her valuable knowledge is a huge asset to the Oilgen team.
“She will enable us to expand our services into integrated reservoir engineering.
“The rapid growth of the team will also increase our capacity to cope with more projects as we expand into the markets of ‘difficult reservoirs’, including ‘unconventionals’.”
In addition to subsurface project management, Oilgen operates an advisory branch, which includes access to a range of experienced consultants providing further support to its clients in reserves and acquisitions.
