SEVERAL North-east businesses have shown their team spirit and supported Aberdeen’s only premier ice hockey team through various club sponsorships.
The Aberdeen Lynx, which competes in the Scottish National League, has received support from a number of local companies for their upcoming season, which kicks off Saturday 7 September.
The Lynx has welcomed a number of sponsorships, including, main sponsors, oil and gas services firm, Rigmar, oil and gas consultancy firm, Embrion, and marine oil and gas consultancy, Offshore Water Management.
Other supporters for the Lynx include, print sponsors, North East Reprographics, graphic design support, Artech and media support from Frasermedia.
Partners assisting the team include Raring2go! Magazine, sport facility provider, Sport Aberdeen, and rink shop and mechanising provider, Ice Topp Sports.
Also helping to keep the players in peak condition are local corporate wellness firm, Fitnut and sports therapists, SMC Massage Therapy.
The club, which suffered some set backs after the rink was closed in 2008, has worked tirelessly to raise the popularity of the sport in the city.
The team appointed a new committee members and has signed several new players that share a passion and drive to get the club the recognition it deserves.
Chair of the Lynx, Alan Forsyth, said: “It is great to have so much support this season from a number of local businesses in the area.
“Without their valuable contributions, the club and team would not be able improve and develop to make the game experience better for our loyal fans.
“We have a number of new signings and also a new coach on board so it is shaping up to be a really exciting season for the Lynx.”
The team is also giving its loyal fans and other local business the chance to sponsor their favourite player for a year, which includes a programme mention and two season tickets.
The Aberdeen Lynx will face off against the Dundee Comets in the first home game on Saturday 7 September at the Aberdeen Linx Ice Arena on the Beach Promenade.
Tickets are priced at £6 for adults, £4 for kids.
