We’ve got massive picnics, a marathon through vineyards, a cultural food festival and the largest flea market in Europe
LOOKING for some more ideas for September planner? We’ve got four events you can’t miss:
31 August – 1 September: Braderie de Lille (Nord-Pas de Calais) – The biggest flea market in Europe will open its doors to 100km of stands, 10,000 vendors and about two million visitors to find anything and everything!
7 September: Marathon du Medoc (Aquitaine) – This fun and dynamic race will take 8,500 runners in fancy dress through some of the region’s most beautiful chateaux and their vineyards. With the theme of ‘Science Fiction’ for its 2013 edition, this year’s sure to entertain!
11-15 September: Cuisines en Friche (Marseille) – With markets, eatable shows, meals, debates and chef demonstrations on the menu, this festival will bring together chefs, artists and philosphers to examine the relationship we have with food.
21-23 September: Fantastic Picnic (Burgundy) – To celebrate the Fete de la Gastronomie, Burgundy is putting on picnics along the canals where anyone can join the locals to savour the local specialities through different themes and concepts.
So, whether you’re looking for a wine run or a massive shopping spree, a regional picnic or some cultural gastronomy, there’s something going on for you.
