EDINBURGH-based consultancy, Jigsaw PR, has been appointed by Edinburgh Leisure to promote the development and launch of a new purpose-built gymnastics and soft play centre in the capital’s Portobello area.
The centre, which is due to open early October, is being developed to respond to the demand for gymnastic and soft play facilities in the Edinburgh and Lothians region.
Tumbles @ Portobello Gymnastics will offer a combined 1589-sqm gymnastics and soft play centre with community café, extensive parking and additional leisure facilities.
Gymnastics is a growth area across Scotland and in Edinburgh alone there are currently over 200 children registered on waiting lists for classes.
The launch of the new centre supports Scottish Gymnastics’ goals for coaching, sports development and tuition, meets a gap in the market in resources and will enable Edinburgh Leisure to grow its gymnastics programme and help develop the next generation of gymnastics champions.
Consultant, Jude Henderson, formerly with VisitScotland, will support Jigsaw PR on the delivery of the campaign.
Jigsaw has also picked up the PR for Sparkle Arts Ltd, an Edinburgh organisation delivering educational performing arts classes for pre-school children throughout the capital, Fife and Lothians. PR will build the profile of the business, promote the programme of varied classes, which support the Curriculum for Excellence, and help platform the launch of a franchise business across Scotland.
Senior marketing manager for Edinburgh Leisure, Adrienne Allan, said: “This was a competitive tender but Jigsaw PR’s enthusiasm combined with relevant tourism, sports and leisure experience proved the right fit for Edinburgh Leisure.”
Specialising in strategic PR and marketing, issues management, media relations and consumer brand building, Jigsaw’s client portfolio includes World Health Communications; Scotty Brand, part of Albert Bartlett Ltd; Scotland’s-oldest family jeweller, LAING Edinburgh – which owns PARKHOUSE in Cardiff and Southampton; R&W Scott, part of The Real Good Food Company plc; the five-star luxury Mains of Taymouth Country Estate and Golf Course in Kenmore; amongst others.
Jigsaw PR’s founding director, Audrey Cassels, also collaborates with Taste Communications directing the Ian Macleod Distillers account, which includes the Glengoyne, Tamdhu and Isle of Skye brands.
