KILMARNOCK-based Microtech Support Limited are pleased to announce the appointment of Stephen Dowdells as managing director, as part of their progressive growth strategy over the next five years.
Microtech’s founder and current managing director, Chris McMail, who founded the company in 1986 will move to the position of executive chair. Chris will now be focusing on business strategy and new business development.
Recent expansion has seen Microtech further develop its position as a leading IT Service provider within the healthcare market with offices now in Leeds and Northern Ireland.
Stephen joins a growing team with Microtech now employing over 30 members of staff.
As a trained chartered accountant, with a wealth of corporate experience, Stephen has worked in financial and latterly commercial operational roles for various large organisations with aggressive growth strategy’s such as Clydesdale Financial Services, Next, Barclays Partner Finance and latterly Capquest Group.
Stephen Dowdells says: “I am delighted to be joining Microtech to lead such a dedicated team, Microtech have a great portfolio of innovative, proven and reliable products and services.
“I am looking forward to developing and managing relationships with both the staff and customers and contributing to the delivery of continued growth in the business.”
Chris McMail, executive chair, Microtech Support, adds: “The business has changed considerably since we started 27 years ago and I’m delighted that we have found a managing director of Stephen’s calibre to help take us to the next stage of development.
“I believe Stephen will be a formidable addition to the team and will play an important role in working with me and the rest of my management team when driving forward with an active programme of expansion.”
Stephen will take up his new post on the 2nd of September.
