MCEWENS of Perth, one of central Scotland’s leading Independent department stores – has joined forces with Cycletta Scotland to mount a wheely good window display in support of the charity cycling event which is set to ride into Perth on Sunday 15th September.
Cycletta, Panache Sports bras and charity partner Macmillan Cancer Support are now the focus of a themed window display at the McEwens Perth store which will also give local ladies the chance to win a prize package to participate in the women only cycling event which is taking place next month at Scone Palace.
Supported by Olympic Gold medallist, Victoria Pendleton (CBE), Cycletta launched in 2011 with just two events and has grown rapidly, now sporting several events in England and Wales, with the first Scottish event to be held this autumn.
Georgina Bullough, marketing director from McEwens, commented: “We are all very excited to be supporting Cycletta’s first-ever event in Scotland and are so pleased it is taking place at Scone Palace on the fabulous grounds of my ancestral family home.
“I’ve cycled around them many times as a young girl and it’s fantastic that Cycletta is making it possible for so many ladies to enjoy cycling in a safe environment as part of a bigger event and to raise some money for a very worthwhile charity.
“We really wanted to do something special to show our support and are thrilled to be giving away some great prizes to some lucky local ladies as well as helping to promote the event and getting others involved! It is going to be a really great day for everyone taking part.”
Entries are now open with the main prize including two entries for Cycletta Scotland, two Macmillan Cancer Support cycling tops and a Panache Bra each.
To enter into the competition, ladies are invited to fill in an entry leaflet in store at McEwens of Perth.
With the choice of a 20km, 45km or 63km course, women of all ages and abilities are encouraged to take on the challenge with their friends and family in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, the event’s official charity partner.
Ahead of the cycle, children aged four – eight years-old are able to enter a fun, mini Scootathlon, which is a new addition to the Cycletta Series this year and includes scooting, cycling and running.
Registration is open for the CyclettaScotland event. For more information visit http://humanrace.co.uk/events/cycletta/
