AWARD-winning catering firm, Heritage Portfolio, is once more hosting a pop-up Pommery Champagne Cafe Bar during the Edinburgh Fringe.
The partnership between Heritage Portfolio and Pommery Champagne will see the historic surroundings of the Signet Library transformed into a fun-filled festival haunt throughout August.
Pommery UK Ambassador, Sara Hicks, will be hosting a one off tutored champagne tasting in the private Upper Library on 15 August.
An unique opportunity to learn more about champagne from one of the industry’s most engaging figures, the audience will be guided through Pommery’s four seasonal champagnes choosing their favourite for another glass, before enjoying a dinner of whole roast lobster and wedges with a glass of Pommery Brut Royal.
New this year will be featured beers from East Lothian microbrewery Knops Beer Company and local Edinburgh Gin from Spencerfield Spirit Company.
For the first time, the cafe bar will also offer lager on draught and off sales of its range of champagnes and Knops Beer.
With superb catering from Heritage Portfolio, the cafe bar has become almost as famous for its food as it is for its unrivalled choice of champagnes.
Alongside Scottish seafood, light lunches, generous sharing platters and indulgent afternoon teas, the cafe bar will be introducing delicious homemade Aberdeen Angus Burgers served with homemade tomato and paprika jam.
For large parties two new offers are available for 2013. The Beer and Burger Night Out, £300 for ten people, includes champagne on arrival, sharing platters, Aberdeen Angus burgers, buckets of beer. Equally good value, the Pommery Lobster Dinner, £475 for ten people, features champagne on arrival, sharing platters, whole roast lobster with potato wedges and aioli, and half of bottle of champagne per person.
Executive director of Heritage Portfolio, Ian D’Annunzio-Green, comments: “We value the relationship we have with Pommery as our preferred supplier and this is an example of an excellent partnership, particularly with the Sara Hicks tutorial being part of Edinburgh’s Fringe Festival.
“The pop-up offers the opportunity for us to showcase the exclusive Pommery brand to a wider consumer audience as well as allowing us to create an aspirational experience for fringe goers.”
The Sara Hicks tutorial will take place at 5.30pm on 15 August 2013 and tickets cost £50 per person, available at the Fringe Box Office at www.edfringe.com.
