AS a result of the buoyant property market within Aberdeen, Shepherd Chartered Surveyors has made a number of promotions this year, including James Richardson to partner and Mark McQueen to associate within its commercial property team.
Its commercial offering has now expanded further with the recruitment of William Foster as an investment agent and Cheryl Roberts and Scott Young as graduates as part of the firm’s continuing graduate education programme.
This recruitment brings Shepherd’s commercial team in Aberdeen to 11.
Recently promoted partner in the Aberdeen office, James Richardson, said: “This further recruitment and promotion reflects the buoyancy of the property market, the positive profile that the city has and the level of demand that we are seeing.
“The appointments increase Shepherd’s commercial offering within the city and illustrate our continued role as a major player within the property market within Aberdeen.
“The firm has a formal graduate programme in place throughout the country and, despite changes to the economy as a whole, our commitment to continued recruitment of graduates remains steadfast as, following our full training programme, they will form the core of the firm in the future.”
Says a spokesperson: “Despite changes to the property market as a whole within the UK, Aberdeen continues to form one of the prime commercial markets within Scotland and the UK with the property market from an occupier, purchaser and investor viewpoint continuing to drive forward.
“Good levels of demand are being achieved in almost all sectors of the market at present and this has led to a shortage of stock within the city and competition for space being created.
“This is further illustrated by the level of demand being shown in new commercial development sites within the city including the likes of Balmoral Business Park to the south, Silvertrees at Westhill and The Core within the Energetica corridor at Bridge of Don.
“Shepherd forms a large residential, commercial and building surveying practice with national coverage and local knowledge through a network of 32 offices.
“In Aberdeen, the firm has a large residential valuation, commercial valuation, agency, professional services, building surveying and management offering with a professional staff of 19 contained within the city.”
