The moves follow the launch of Equalizer’s latest product at OTC Houston – the SWi range of flange spreading wedges. Believed to be the most powerful in the world, they are designed to decrease downtime and provide a safe, efficient and cost effective way to access and spread flange joints.
Ian McCormick, managing director of Equalizer International, said: “Equalizer, despite the continuing economic challenges, has experienced ongoing growth during the past 12 months as knowledge of our products becomes more widespread in what is a very niche and specialised market.
“Our globally-leading flange management tools are proving very beneficial in saving time and money for operators and service contractors in a range of energy related sectors. As a result we have been able to recruit four new team members.”
Equalizer International was established almost 20 years ago in Aberdeen, Scotland, to respond to the needs of the onshore, offshore and subsea oil and gas industry through maintenance, shutdown and emergency avoidance support.
The company is now increasingly involved in pre-commissioning, construction and testing for a client base which includes the petrochemicals, nuclear, mining, water and renewable energy sectors.
Equalizer’s patented, award-winning maintenance tools provide a very quick, safe, cost effective and simple solution to flange alignment, flange spreading and flange pulling requirements which have been proven to achieve considerable savings for their customers.
Extremely portable – in many cases hand-held – the tools offer a much safer and simpler method of correcting flange alignment and separation problems in a fraction of the time of traditional, more dangerous and time consuming practices.
