THE Avenue Shopping Centre in Newton Mearns will be at the centre of things this summer as the popular mall hosts a range of free entertainment activities to build on its award-winning reputation as Best Family Friendly Shopping Centre.
The fun kicks off with M&D’s fabulous Amazonia display of creepy crawlies running from 1st July till 4th July; before kids can come and learn the secrets of theatre make up in sessions presented by The Kings Theatre experts from 8th July till 11th July.
The Kids Soft Play Double Decker Bus returns to the mall car park by popular demand from 15th July till 18th July while kids can swap toys and tales at Waterstones from 22nd July till 25th July before indulging in some cupcake decorating from 29th July till 1st August with Cook School Scotland.
Summer will round off with a series of colourful craft workshops giving kids a chance to get creative at The Avenue’s summer craft workshops where they can make everything from sun catchers, secret holiday notebooks, wildlife wind chimes and foam sun visors from 5th August till 8th August.
Michelle McCabe, centre manager at The Avenue, said: “Many parents are already wondering how they’re going to occupy the kids over the long summer months – and few kids like being dragged around whilst mum does the family shopping.
“But, once again, our ever popular series of ever-changing free entertainment activities makes it more likely that the kids will be dragging their mum’s to The Avenue this summer!”
The Avenue’s series of free weekly themed summer entertainment runs Monday to Thursday from 10 am till 4pm.
