ONE of Scotland’s leading independent HR, employment law and health and safety firms has completed an acquisition of a payroll company to enhance its client services.
Empire, which is headquartered in Aberdeen and also has offices in Glasgow, has agreed a deal with Aberdeen-based Precise Payroll as part of its on-going business growth strategy.
Former managing director of Precise Payroll, Louise Mitchell, has relocated to Empire’s Aberdeen office, along with her two experienced payroll specialists, where she will head up the new division as payroll manager.
Empire’s payroll department will now manage Precise Payroll’s 150 clients, as well as rolling out the service to existing and new clients. The payroll team has a wealth of knowledge and expertise in payroll services, annual returns, P11D’s, BACS processing, accounting and bookkeeping.
Empire operations director, PJ Chalmers, said: “Recent changes in PAYE legislation have generated a lot of interest in payroll and employment law over the last few months.
“Empire is now in a very strong position to tackle these changes from both a payroll and employment law perspective. Our new services provide businesses who may be struggling with the changes with a comprehensive and hassle free option to get up to speed.”
Payroll manager, Louise Mitchell, said: “This move is a great opportunity for us and will provide many new services and resources for our existing clients. We have very good relationships with our customers and this is something that we feel we can enhance by teaming up with Empire.”
Empire, which has over 600 clients throughout Scotland and the UK, has recently opened a new office in central Glasgow and has already employed a team of six to support the firm’s presence and growth in the Central Belt.
The company now has 41 staff and is looking to increase staff numbers by 20 per cent by the end of the year, with a focus to expand further north and increase its sales team in the Inverness and Dundee areas.
Empire offers a wide range of employment support services including employment law, payroll, training, health and safety and employment tribunals.
The firm has a diverse range of clients across the UK, with employee numbers ranging from three to 13,000 and provide a commercially focused employment law and HR support service, including a 24-hour telephone advice line, HR consultancy, tribunal and health and safety support.
