THE Italian Bistro in Glasgow’s West End has launched a fresh new a la carte menu offering a tempting combination of Italian classics and modern international cuisine, including prime steaks, Scottish seafood and seasonal game, accompanied by a comprehensive selection of cocktails, draught beers and wine list.
The new menu features a selection of focaccia appetisers to share followed by such starters as: minestrone; carpaccio of 21 day mature Scotch beef; pan-fried trout fillet; home-made gnocchi; grilled langoustines and antipasti for two.
A stone baked pizza selection includes all the favourites, from classic margherita to Quattro stagione, whilst pasta dishes include all arrabiata, Bolognese, spaghetti carbonara and lasagne al forno.
Main courses include: pan fried calves liver; cutlet of rose veal; haggis stuffed chicken breast and a chateaubriand classic grill for two. Fish mains include: pan-fried fillets of sea bass; seared scallops and fettuccini of seafood, whilst vegetarian main options are risotto primavera and melting wild mushroom lasagne.
Desserts include: tiramisu espresso; white chocolate ginger and rhubarb cheese cake; gelati rustic; sorbetto stagionale; a trio of raspberry desserts and a farmhouse cheese selection.
Proprietor, Nas Aksi, said: “Devised by our long-term head chef Steven Caputa, our new a la carte menu has been designed to offer an authentic taste of the best Italian cuisine, using the best quality fresh local ingredients. A mixture of both classic and modern dishes, it will appeal to all discerning diners.”
Located in a distinctive and stylish historic building on Glasgow’s Great Western Road, The Italian Bistro provides a stylish and contemporary dining atmosphere.
