A LEADING Scottish legal firm based in the North-east has strengthened its energy team in Aberdeen with the appointment of a new Partner.
David Forfar has joined Stronachs LLP’s energy team, which is one of the biggest in Scotland.
Mr Forfar, who has more than ten years experience in the oil and gas sector, will join partners Ewan Neilson, James Downie and Malcolm Donald. In addition to the partners, the team comprises three senior associates, two senior assistants, three junior lawyers and two consultants.
Mr Forfar has spent the past five-and-a-half years at CNR International in Aberdeen where he was a senior legal advisor working extensively on assets across Africa and the UK Continental Shelf.
He has worked on a number of cross-border restructurings and has interacted closely with regulators and government departments in Africa.
Prior to his move to Aberdeen in 2005, Mr Forfar was a university academic and research fellow at Wadham College, Oxford, before moving to London to train with, and subsequently practice in, the Energy Group at the city law firm Ashurst.
Stronachs is one of the key players in the North-east oil and gas economy, and acts for a number of major oil and gas companies, and businesses in the industry’s supply chain.
In addition, the firm provides legal diligence services to banks and equity providers investing in the oil and gas industry.
