A PRESIGIOUS hotel on the outskirts of Aberdeen is celebrating after being shortlisted in the finals of prestigious lifestyle awards.
The Mercure Ardoe House Hotel and Spa is a finalist in the Trend Life With Style Awards 2013, under the Hotel Star category.
The annual awards recognise the achievements of local businesses and their contribution to the lifestyle of the North-east, and judges were impressed with the recent refurbishment programme at the four-star hotel.
Extensive work has been carried out at the 19th century mansion house to restore it back to its former glory, with a modern twist.
To date, extensive refurbishment work has included the transformation of the reception area, two bars and magnificent ballroom, along with the addition of ten new bedrooms and suites, bringing the number of bedrooms at the hotel to 119.
Impressive plans are also underway to refurbish the restaurant and spa, and the remainder of the bedrooms.
General manager, Peter Sangster, said: “Ardoe has come a long way following the first part of the refurbishment, and I have a passionate commitment to ensure the hotel is classed as one of the best in Aberdeen.
“Winning the award would not only give the hotel the recognition it deserves, but it would also reward the staff who work here, as their hard work has helped to make the hotel a success.”
The awards ceremony will take place on Thursday 13 June, at the Marcliffe Hotel and Spa.
