THE luxurious Ardoe House Hotel and Spa has promoted former event sales manager, Claire Thomson, to hotel sales manager, and has appointed Lauren Craigie as sales support co-ordinator.
Mrs Thomson, who is from the Glasgow area, has more than ten years experience in the hospitality industry, and will use her extensive experience in her new role.
She studied Tourism and Hospitality at RGU, and first joined Ardoe as a part-time wedding coordinator in 2006, during her fourth year at University.
Following her studies, she was headhunted by a four-star hotel on the outskirts of the city to work as the senior events manager in 2008, and joined Ardoe in 2010 as event sales manager, before her recent promotion to hotel sales manager.
Miss Craigie, 24, who has joined the team as sales coordinator, studied Management with Marketing RGU, and will assist the sales team with the planning of long-term business strategies and event sales.
Mrs Thomson said: “Being part of the major refurbishment programme here at Ardoe has been fantastic. Taking on my new role at such an exciting time has been a great challenge, and I will continue to use my expertise to build the services on offer at Ardoe.
“Lauren’s appointment will help to ensure we continue to provide a top class service and exceed the expectations of our customers.”
General manager, Peter Sangster, added: “Claire has shown fantastic commitment and passion, not only for her specific events sales role here at Ardoe House, but also for the hotel itself.
“It was the natural step for her to be given this opportunity having shown great enthusiasm to develop further.
“Lauren is a valuable addition to the team, and she will assist with the smooth running of the department.”
