A SPECIALIST North-east drilling services firm has made two key appointments to strengthen its expert team.
Paradigm Drilling Services, which is based at Thainstone, near Inverurie, has appointed Raymond Ross as group marketing manager and Ian Thow as manufacturing manager, increasing the North-east team to 42.
The innovative engineering and manufacturing company, established in 2009, offers a broad portfolio of drilling technology services and solutions to the global oil and gas industry.
The firm has a range of proprietary and patented hole enlargement tools and is currently developing a ground breaking horizontal drilling system.
Mr Ross has 20 years experience in the industry and has held a number of roles at large oil and gas service companies throughout his career. He is responsible for managing the group’s overall marketing and branding strategy.
Mr Thow is a manufacturing and supply chain professional, with international experience, and has worked for a number of global upstream technology companies.
With over 35 years in the oil and gas industry, he will support the growth of the company by implementing productivity and process improvement initiatives.

The firm has grown rapidly in just over three years starting with just three members of staff in 2009.
These latest appointments have seen the team grow to 42 employees and the firm projects to increase staff numbers to over 50 by year end.
Paradigm Drilling Services is American Petroleum Institute (API) accredited, and designs, manufactures and services all types of drilling equipment and downhole tools for a number of the world’s leading oilfield service and directional drilling companies.
The company, which is part of the Paradigm Group of companies, has a large inventory of BHI and Hole Enlargement equipment for rental.
They also manufacture, service and repair a wide range of downhole tools and fishing equipment.
