THE managing director of an Aberdeen-based oil and gas consultancy has published a new book focusing on leadership skills and organisational change in the workplace.
Internationally-respected professor of psychology, and business consultant, Dr Jonathan Passmore of Embrion, wrote and edited The Wiley Blackwell Handbook of the Psychology of Leadership, Change and Organisational Development, in collaboration with a team of other professors from across the globe.
Says a spokesperson: “Embrion, which is based in Westhill, offers a wide range of leadership, management and development training, plus wider Organisation Development (OD) services including business improvement services.
“The company also specialises in professional development safety coaching and health and safety services, and Dr Passmore has used his expert knowledge to write and edit more than a dozen books and 50 research papers to date.
“His latest book uses key contemporary research to provide an in-depth, international, and competencies-based approach to the psychology of leadership, change and OD.”
Dr Passmore said: “The book allows leaders and business professionals to keep up with scholarly research and ensure their HR practices are as leading edge as their operational practice.
“Embrion’s work on leadership and organisational development has helped leaders and organisations to survive and thrive through a period of unprecedented challenge.
“One of our areas of focus has been on using Lean and Six Sigma to help manage change, another has been on using positive psychology tools to win hearts and minds to the change process.“
Embrion is running a tailored programme of courses and seminars in Aberdeen throughout the year, aimed at leaders, coaches, HR professionals and health and safety managers in the industry.
Dr Passmore will also be travelling to Hungary, Serbia and Portugal during the spring and summer to speak at a number of conferences.
