PUBLISHING businesses are being invited to a student showcase at the University of Stirling.
The event will take place on Thursday, May 2, at the University’s Pathfoot Building. Anyone interested can find out more and book places at http://stir.ac.uk/bu
Professor Claire Squires, Director of the Stirling Centre for International Publishing and Communication, said: “The event is a great chance for people in business to see the kind of work being produced by our publishing students, and possibly meet potential employees.
“The showcase, at 5 p.m., will be preceded by a panel discussion involving our industry advisory board, talking about the state of the publishing industry. It’s due to start at 3.15 p.m.
“Guests are welcome to come early and join in both events. There will also be a drinks reception at the showcase.”
The Stirling Centre for International Publishing and Communication offers students an exceptional opportunity to study publishing at Masters level or to undertake postgraduate research leading to a PhD.
The University offers an MLitt in Publishing Studies and an MRes in Publishing Studies. Both programmes cover publishing books, journals, magazines and in digital formats.
