THE BEAN Shop, one of Perth’s finest independent retailers, celebrated its tenth anniversary this weekend, treating loyal customers and coffee lovers to a shot of one of the finest and most rare coffees in the world: Jamaican Blue Mountain.
Opening its doors in April 2003, The Bean Shop quickly became one of Perth’s destination retailers, specialising in gourmet coffees and teas, drawing a loyal customer base from coffee and tea drinkers from around Perthshire as well as further afield and online.
It is now an established presence on Perth’s George Street and attracts customers from around Scotland, drawn in by the enticing aroma of freshly-roasted coffee and a warm welcome from its owners, John and Lorna Bruce.
Pouring their shared passion for coffee into The Bean Shop, the husband and wife team spent the weekend celebrating this important milestone for the business with co-workers Craig Rothney and Janey Ditter and expressed gratitude to their many loyal customers.
John commented: “Our customers have been very loyal to us over the last ten years and, to say thank you, we wanted to treat them to something really special.
“Jamaican Blue Mountain is one of the rarest coffees in the world and it seemed fitting to invite our customers to celebrate our tenth anniversary by joining us for a cup of the finest, freshly-brewed, just for them.”
Jamaican Blue Mountain is one of the most exclusive coffees and a favourite of coffee connoisseurs for its smoothness and balanced flavour.
It is grown on the Eastern part of Jamaica in the parishes of Portland, St Andrew, and St Thomas between 2,000 to 5,000 ft, and comes from just one of five certified estates.
Early bird customers on the Saturday morning also got involved in the cutting of the TenthAnniversary Cake, fittingly shaped like a coffee bean, which was then served to customers who visited throughout the day.
The Bean Shop, known for their unique coffee blends, has developed a special Tenth Anniversary Blend to commemorate the occasion which will be launched this week and can be sampled in store throughout April.
