Media Release: Enterprise North East Trust expands into Perth and Kinross

The Perth Enterprise and Business Centre

A LEADING Scottish business support organisation has launched a new office in Perth to support new start and growing businesses and encourage entrepreneurship in the Perth and Kinross area.

The Perth Enterprise and Business Centre has been opened by Enterprise North East Trust (Enterprise), which delivers the Business Gateway contract for both Tayside and Aberdeen City and Shire.

Based in Saltire House in the city’s Whitefriars Crescent, the new office allows Enterprise to deliver a full range of Business Gateway services for companies across the Perth and Kinross area.

Enterprise offers a range of professional resources, support and tools to help businesses learn new skills, create new opportunities and develop new strategies.

The facility has flexible office accommodation on long and short-term leases, including reception services and training room facilities.

Hot desk facilities are also available to help people working from home to make the transition to moving into their own premises.

The Perth base further strengthens the presence of both Enterprise and Business Gateway throughout Scotland, allowing them to share business expertise and contacts with hundreds of businesses in the area and support both new start businesses and growing firms.

Enterprise operations director, Andrew Burnett, who is responsible for the delivery of the Business Gateway contract in Tayside, said: “With Perth granted city status last year, there is a discernable mood of optimism and our new business centre allows us to further encourage entrepreneurial spirit in the area.

“We already support around 780 new businesses in the Tayside area and the new Perth base ensures that Enterprise, in conjunction with Perth and Kinross Council’s local economic development team, can share a wealth of expertise and professional resources directly with businesses in or around the prospering city.

“Not only will the Perth Enterprise and Business Centre help new and growing businesses, it will also allow Enterprise to deliver initiatives for young people in the area with workshops and seminars to help and encourage youngsters looking to start up their own businesses and become more employable.”

There are currently four business advisors based in Perth and there are plans to increase the team to meet the anticipated demand in the area.

The base will also be a focal point for other enterprise-focussed organisations in the area so they can offer joint support to entrepreneurs.

The Perth office is Enterprise North East Trust’s 18th business centre across Tayside and Aberdeen City and Shire.
