SOMETHING ‘eggstra-terrestrial’ is happening at Edinburgh’s Our Dynamic Earth this Easter.
The iconic, five-star attraction has been invaded, by not one, but two alien-inspired features, sure to fascinate adults and children alike.
For the first time in Scotland, visitors can see the spectacular ‘Alien Invasion’ exhibition, a 35-piece collection of props and costumes, celebrating some of the greatest movies and TV shows ever made.
From Star Wars to Doctor Who, this one-off exhibition is a rare opportunity to see pieces of memorabilia from some of Hollywood’s biggest sci-fi blockbusters.
Brave visitors can come face to face with the formidable Darth Vader and the gruesome Predator – while Chewbacca, Yoda and Marvin the Martian prove that aliens come in friendlier guises too.
Aliens are also the topic of the brand new 360-degree film in the freshly upgraded and refurbished ShowDome.
‘We are Aliens’ takes the audience on a mesmerising, immersive and entertaining journey, as the show seeks to find the evidence of alien life in our galaxy.
This superbly-rendered animation, narrated by Harry Potter star, Rupert Grint, is strikingly realistic, and screened with surround sound, providing a fully immersive cinematic experience – unique in Scotland.
Commenting on Easter’s paranormal activity, Eilidh Massie, marketing manager of Dynamic Earth said: “We’re all incredibly excited about aliens visiting Dynamic Earth.
“The ‘Alien Invasion’ collection is amazing and spine-tingling in equal measure – it’s guaranteed to thrill visitors of all ages and is unmissable for sci-fi fans and film buffs.

Along with the alien egg-stravaganza, family show ‘Explore Your Universe’ will also be running over Easter as part of the Edinburgh International Science Festival.
Through exciting demonstration and experiments, this hands on show brings alive the latest science being explored by UK scientists and engineers.
On top of all this, regular Our Dynamic Earth features include Scotland’s only permanent 4D cinema, a real iceberg, a bone-shaking earthquake, and a tropical rainforest.
‘Alien Invasion’ will run for three months from 25 March until 28 June; ‘We are Aliens’ will be showing at regular intervals daily until 30 June, and visitors can catch ‘Explore your Universe’ at 11am, 1pm and 3pm from 23 March until 7 April.
All are free with admission to Our Dynamic Earth.
