AN Aberdeen-based oil and gas consultancy has launched a tailored programme of seminars aimed at leaders, coaches, HR professionals and health and safety managers in the industry.
Embrion, which is based in Westhill, delivers a range of bespoke services using the science of psychology to improve business practices in performance and safety, with services including skills training, executive coaching and health and safety coaching.
The business is run by internationally-respected professor of psychology and business consultant, Dr Jonathan Passmore, and former Royal Marine, Jim McGovern, who has an experienced background in health and safety in the energy and construction industries.
The firm has launched a calendar of open seminars in Aberdeen throughout 2013, with the first taking place on Tuesday, 19 March at RGU Schoolhill, debating Does Coaching Work.
Coaching has become an essential tool for work, and during the free lunchtime seminar, Dr Passmore will explore what coaching is, if it works and what makes a good coach.
Dr Passmore said: “By the end of the seminar it is hoped delegates will understand the fundamentals of coaching and how coaching can contribute towards work performance. The seminar will also help people understand what to look for when recruiting a coach.”
A range of other topics are set to be covered in other sessions being held throughout the year, and as an Institute of Leadership and Managers (ILM) provider, they will include formal ILM courses, alongside more practical skills courses for leaders, and a number of free events which will offer an insight into the work of the company.
In addition to the open programmes, Embrion offers a wide range of in-house and bespoke courses on health and safety and behavioural change and are currently working with a number of major oil giants in the city.
