HUNDREDS of book fans flocked to The Avenue Shopping Centre in Newton Mearns earlier this week to meet Glasgow-born actor, singer, dancer, musical theatre performer, writer and television personality, John Barrowman, when – together with his sister, Carole Barrowman – he popped into Waterstones to sign copies of their new book Bone Quill.
Michelle McCabe, Centre Manager at The Avenue, said: “This was without question the most successful book event we’ve ever hosted at The Avenue – we had over 700 enthusiastic fans flock to the mall eager to meet John and Carole in the flesh and snap up their exciting new book.
“There was a great atmosphere in the mall this week and, already, we are planning to welcome many other celebrity authors to The Avenue over the course of the coming months.”
Bone Quill is the sequel to John and Carole E Barrowman’s first fantasy novel for young people, Hollow Earth, and sees the thrilling adventures of twins Matt and Emily Calder continue apace.
The Avenue Shopping Centre, managed by commercial property consultancy BTWShiells, offers shoppers an alternative to sprawling trolley-dash shopping culture with a comprehensive range of outlets offering a warm and welcoming shopping experience conveniently located on the outskirts of Glasgow city centre.
