RESIDENTS of an Aberdeen-based independently-owned private nursing home have celebrated the life and works of Robert Burns by hosting a special day of events.
The annual occasion was organised by occupational therapist Sallie McHardy, supported by staff, relatives and friends.
Traditional fayre was prepared by chef Yvonne Fraser and her team, with Hawkhill friend Ken McHardy piping in the haggis to be addressed by director George Esson. Resident, Nancy Boyle, delivered the Selkirk Grace and, after lunch, accordionist Bob Dunlop set toes tapping with an afternoon of traditional Scottish music.
Commenting on the success of the event, Hawkhill House Nursing Home owner and managing director, Rona Tayler, said: “Once again, the staff worked hard to pull together this special celebration and we are delighted that it was enjoyed by so many of our residents.”
Hawkhill House Nursing Home is located at 234 North Deeside Road, Milltimber, Aberdeen, AB13 0DQ.
