ALEA Glasgow, Scotland’s biggest gaming venue on the Clyde at Springfield Quay, has appointed a new poker manager and introduced a new tournament schedule as it ups its stake in its poker offering.
Glaswegian John Hannah, a gaming industry veteran with some 21 years’ experience – including spells at The Ritz, The Casino at The Empire in Leicester Square and World Series Of Poker Europe (WSOPE) – joins the casino to head up its poker offering and revamp its tournament schedule.
Commenting on his appointment, Hannah said: “I’m delighted to join Alea and hope to build on our card room business by attracting more people to come and experience our poker offering.
“Our new tournament schedule, starting Monday 4 February, will help make poker more accessible to novices, whilst retaining those tournaments that appeal to more experienced players.”
Paul Rety, managing director at Alea Glasgow, said: “With the best river views in Glasgow, the appointment of one of the best poker managers in the business and a brand new poker schedule with daily cash games and tournaments to suit everyone, Alea can provide an offering for card players unrivalled anywhere else in the city.
“And with the ultimate poker pit in Scotland with river front views waitress service and a large screen so you don’t miss the all important match, it’s no wonder we are the home of WSOPE in Scotland.”
Alea runs poker tournaments every day of the week, with bigger games from Thursday through to Sunday and a special tournament on the first Sunday of each month
