LAST night saw the successful launch of Women Connect, a businesswomen’s network in the North-east that aims to connect, support and encourage women in business.
The launch took place at Johnstone House on Rose Street, Aberdeen, with over 100 ladies in attendance from a diverse range of business sectors.
The launch marked the rebrand of ‘Connect925’ to ‘Women Connect’ and delegates enjoyed talks by president, Lianne McPherson; vice-president of the Association of Scottish Businesswomen, Alison Henderson; and committee member, Eileen Mauchline.
President of Women Connect, Lianne McPherson, commented: “The response to our rebrand has been overwhelming and we are very excited for what’s to come. We have some great events lined up over the next six months and we hope to raise our profile and attract more members so that we can further invest in our network and support more women in business.”
Lianne has recently been appointed as president of Women Connect, which has also welcomed new committee members: Rebecca Riddell, Kimberley Wilson, Jennifer Mann and Eileen Mauchline.
In addition to a new name and brand, the networking group launched a new website yesterday, which details forthcoming events and promotes members through an online directory.
Women Connect’s next event is on Tuesday 19th February, when it welcomes speaker, Neil Butler from Companies House.
