ABERDEEN restaurant, Musa, is offering 20 per cent off lunches to iPhone owners in January.
Thousands of new iPhones were activated in the area in the north-east over the Christmas period and as bills start coming in, Musa wants to make life a little bit easier for the iPhone crowd.
Anyone who downloads the restaurant’s app – available via the iTunes store – and shows it to staff when ordering a meal before 5pm until the end of January will automatically get 20 per cent off their bill.
General manager, John Kelman, said: “If any iPhone user downloads our app – they can even use our free wifi to do it – and shows it to staff then they’ll get a 20 per cent discount on when they come to Musa.
“We thought we’d time it for now as the first bills will be starting to come in.”
Musa is the first independent restaurant in Aberdeen to offer an iPhone app.
The app is the latest form of engagement for the restaurant which has one of the most popular cooking videos on the video sharing website, YouTube, by a Scottish restaurant.
Kelman added: “Like Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube and Facebook, it’s another great way of sharing interesting Musa and food-related material with fans of the restaurant. They can see all our latest online postings and special offers as well as book a table.
“But it’s not just about us as we’ve got a facility built in to the app that lets us profile the services that our customers offer.
“So if you’re looking for a designer, there’s one right at your fingertips.
“The app shouldn’t just be about us, it should be about telling others about the fantastic and creative people from Aberdeen that come in here day after day.
“It also has a built-in option for calling a taxi for you so you can get to and from Musa safely.”
All customers have to do is show their phone running the app to a member of staff when ordering. Staff will take a note of the mobile number and apply the discount. One discount per phone and one discount per meal sitting.
The app, developed by Legacy 3 Innovations, can be found here, while Musa can be found online at MusaAberdeen.com
