SHEPHERD Chartered Surveyors managing partner Ian Fergusson has been appointed chief surveyor at Sesame Bankhall Valuation Services (SBVS).
Formed last year from the amalgamation of Sesame Bankhall Group, one of the UK’s largest distributors of retail financial advice, and Direct Valuations, one of the largest independent panel managers in the UK, SBVS works for its lender partners to manage risk by providing full national postcode coverage, client-approved panel members and two tiered professional indemnity cover.
Ian Fergusson BSc FRICS is a chartered surveyor and fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) who has worked in the property industry for nearly 30 years.
He is also a member of the Assigned Risks Panel (ARP), which helps firms experiencing Professional Indemnity Insurance issues in the current difficult market conditions.
John Cupis, managing director of SBVS, said: “Ian has extensive industry experience and brings significant additional technical expertise to SBVS.
“I am confident that he will be a strong addition to the SBVS team, in particular to support our growing number of lender partners’ requirements for input to lending policy, credit and risk management.”
Ian Fergusson said: “Sesame Bankhall Valuation Services has an impressive standing in the UK mortgage market and has earned a reputation for delivering excellent service to its members.
“Buying a house is often the most important financial transaction that a person makes and it is essential that customers fully understand the quality of the property they are buying via valuation and survey reports. In joining SBVS, I hope to help improve market knowledge of these reports to ensure that customers have a full understanding of their future property before purchase.”
Fergusson will also continue in his role as managing partner at Shepherd, based out of its Stirling office.
