GLENCRAFT, the Aberdeen-based company who employ adults with disabilities, will hold their annual fundraising dinner on Friday, November 30.
And this year, supporters of the independent charity and social enterprise have excelled themselves with their generosity for the auction and raffle.
Top billing in the auction is the opportunity for the winning bidder to take themselves and 31 guests to Raemoir House Hotel, near Banchory.
The prizes gives the winner the use of the entire hotel for a full 24 hours.
Guests will enjoy dinner and breakfast the following morning and it’s an ideal venue for hosting a corporate event, special birthday or even a wedding.
Owner of Raemoir House Hotel, Neil Rae, has donated the fabulous prize which will be the grand finale of the auction.
Other auction prizes include an evening meal for six people cooked by a chef in your own home; a week-long stay at a villa in Algarve, Portugal; a week-long stay at a villa in Fethiye, Turkey; dinner at the Marcliffe Hotel and Spa plus golf at Trump International; and accommodation for eight people at Kirkfield House in Glenelg for a week.
A silent auction will give those attending the annual dinner the chance to bid for a fabulous 18ct white gold pendant set with four curved brilliant cut diamonds donated by Jamieson and Carry; dinner, bed and breakfast and spa treatments at Ardoe House Hotel; a signed Manchester United football; and a signed Scotland shirt from the Scotland vs Macedonia match.
The evening will be compered by local personality Doug Duthie and Aberdeen FC manager, Craig Brown, will give an after-dinner speech.
With music, comedy and a superb four-course meal, the charity dinner to be held at the Marcliffe Hotel, Glencraft are hoping to substantially boost their funding.
Since briefly closing in 2009, Glencraft has made continual progress towards self delivered sustainability as a profitable social enterprise.
One of the major challenges still facing the team is funding new machinery and maintaining their premises, which as a result mean they still rely on fundraising.
Currently, Glencraft’s core business is through manufacturing their luxury mattresses for offshore accommodation, student accommodation and hotel chains.
Looking to the future, Glencraft aims to provide lots more opportunities to increase their workforce of 45 employees, 75 per cent of whom are visually impaired, blind or disabled.
The company create exclusive hand crafted divans, mattress and also sell bedroom furniture from their factory and showroom on Wellington Road, Aberdeen.
