TO support ‘The Ciara Caskie Allan Appeal, the distillery managers of Islay and Jura have come together to auction an unique collection of 12 bottlings, each a single malt whisky, selected individually from their own private collections and personally signed.
Some are unique, hand-vatted bottles from rare casks and all are highly collectable with a story to tell.
The 12 bottles are being sold as an entire collection to the highest bidder at the request of all the distillery managers with all proceeds going to Ciara and her family. Nothing quite like this has ever been seen before – someone is going to be the proud owner of a slice of distilling and Hebridean history.
Bidding is being run online and closes at 17:00 on 30th November.

What is the Ciara Caskie Allan Appeal?
Ciara Caskie Allan is a very brave 11 year-old girl who has just returned home to Bowmore on Islay after facing major brain surgery at the Yorkhill Hospital in Glasgow for the third time. Ciara suffered a stroke at the age of three due to a brain haemorrhage. Her life has been a long battle ever since tests revealed a brain tumour growing around her main arterial, leaving her paralysed on her left side. She was hospitalised for 16 weeks at this stage, undergoing intensive hydrotherapy and physiotherapy until she could walk and talk again.
Following years of struggle, Ciara and her family must now fly to Oklahoma in the USA for intensive proton therapy to support the work done during the latest surgery at Yorkhill. She will receive this proton therapy treatment for five days a week for up to 14 weeks. It will not be easy, but it has to be done.
Everyone on Islay is working hard to support Ciara and her family at this difficult time with lots of fundraising events. The Ilich have organised dances and discos, held quizzes, given talks and sung carols. Her classmates at Bowmore Primary School are running a Cross Country Challenge while Islay farmers have raised over £2,000 by donating lambs with the support of United Auctions and Caledonian Marts. Bowmore and Port Ellen Football Clubs are involved, as are Islay Rugby Club and the WRI in Portnahaven plus the local police force and fire brigade. Always close-knit, the island communities are determined to look after this brave young girl.
