ONE of the country’s leading fireworks companies has established a permanent retail base in Inverurie.
Inverurie Fireworks Store recently opened its doors at the town’s Blackhall Industrial Estate, offering year-round sales of top brand fireworks to trade and public customers.
The shop is located in a specially adapted unit and secure outdoor compound which has been taken on by proprietor Mark Copland in a ten-year lease.
The opening comes as award-winning parent company Fireworx Scotland gears up for the busy Guy Fawkes season, during which Mark and his large team will deliver a total of 38 displays across Scotland, from Dumfries to Thurso.
Commenting on the move, Mark Copland said: “In previous years, we have operated seasonal shops in Inverurie but that meant that people didn’t know where we were going to be, from one year to the next.
“Added to that is growing demand from customers who want to purchase fireworks throughout the year so the time is right for us to establish a permanent home for the retail division of the company as it continues to thrive.”
Mark added: “It has been a record year for the wholesale side of the business and we’ve taken delivery of 17 containers of fireworks from China in the last two months alone as we get ready for our busiest time of the year.”
